Dear Canton Voters,

It’s time to turn the page.

For 36 years, our town has been led by the same voice. Canton has grown, changed, and faced new challenges—but leadership has remained the same. Now, it’s time for a fresh perspective, a new energy, and a forward-looking vision.

It’s time to turn the page on the divisions that have held us back.
It’s time to turn the page on the wounds that have fractured our community.
It’s time to turn the page and move forward—together.

This campaign has been deeply personal to me. Walking through our neighborhoods, knocking on doors, and hearing your concerns have reaffirmed why I’m running. I’ve met parents worried about their children's future, seniors who feel unheard, and small business owners who need stronger support. I’ve listened, I’ve learned, and I’m ready to lead.

As I’ve heard your stories, there has been so much I can relate to.  How well I remember the challenges of starting a new business and a family at the same time.  It was a struggle to make payroll those first 5 years and also give my three growing children the time and attention they needed, all while caring for an aging parent. None of it was easy, but it was worthwhile.  When my kids started at Hansen, Reiki Schutt was the president of our CAPT.  I realized then that if she, a successful attorney with three young children, could take on this task , then I could also be an active volunteer in the schools.  Reuki was the role model who made me see what was possible. Thank you, Reuki , for your leadership and inspiration!

I respect and thank John Connolly for his 36 years of dedication to Canton. But after nearly four decades, it’s clear: Canton needs fresh leadership, a renewed commitment to transparency, and a Select Board that embraces the future, not just the past.

It’s time for our Select Board to truly support our police—not just in words, but through real oversight and resources. It’s time to ensure that each resident— of  every background—feels heard, represented, and valued in the decisions shaping our town.

Elections are decided by just a handful of votes. Your vote is your voice, and it has the power to shape the future of Canton. Let’s make this a turning point. Let’s step forward together.

Please vote. Vote early, vote by mail or vote on the April 8 election day.. Please cast a vote for Susan Harrington for Select Board.  And let’s turn the page – together.

Sincerely,
Susan Harrington
